Excitement builds in Clackmannan this week ahead of the town’s Christmas lights ‘Switch on’ this Sunday, 26th November as part of the annual ‘Light up Clackmannan’ Christmas event!
The festivities will kick start in Clackmannan Town Hall at 3pm where there will be a Santa’s grotto, a variety of Christmas craft stalls featuring some quality craft items – ideal if you are still looking for that perfect Christmas gift!
Traders will be selling products such as up-cycled Harris Tweed hats, jackets, handmade jewellery, festive treats and much more! To add to the atmosphere for the shoppers there will be a dance performance by local dance school – Just Dance, along with free face painting and glitter tattoos from Frozen’s very own Elsa and Anna!
After perusing the craft stalls, why not take a seat in the Craigrie room and enjoy a bowl of delicious fresh soup and scones prepared by Bargains & Bites volunteers. Children will also have a chance to meet Father Christmas in his Grotto to tell them their Christmas wishes. A magician will also be wowing the crowds with some magic tricks.
At 6pm locals will make their way from the Town Hall onto the Main Street to enjoy some traditional music from Clackmannan & Tulliallan Pipe Band and Clackmannan Brass Band Ensemble as lead the way to the Tolbooth for some festive carol singing with Clackmannan Parish Church choir and brass band ahead of the Christmas lights being turned on the communities’ chosen local hero.
