Clackmannan Development Trust (CDT) was formed in March 2013. The trust operates by a management committee which is currently run by 5 Directors as voted in at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting – all of whom are local residents, who volunteer their time to support the trust. The aim of CDT is to work towards making Clackmannan a better place to work, live and visit.
In 2014, Coalfields Regeneration Trust selected Clackmannan Development Trust to participate in their Community Futures Programme to; encourage active citizenship, build upon local democracy and develop local planning for a sustainable community.
From the information gained via this programme, a 5 year Community Action Plan for Clackmannan (2015-2020) was created.
The Action Plan identifies 5 key focus themes; find out more here
• Theme 1 – Local Heritage
• Theme 2 – Develop Community Involvement, Events & Activities
• Theme 3 – Transport, Roads & Parking
• Theme 4 – Develop Community Facilities
• Theme 5 – Improve Town Environment & Appearance
In June 2016, to help support the delivery of the Community Action Plan, CDT were awarded funding from Coalfields Regeneration Trust Scotland to fund a full time Community Development Officer for 1 year.
