In 2019, Clackmannan Development Trust launched it’s Active Travel work to address some of the issues in our Community Action Plan 2015 – 2020.
A social cycle group lead by local volunteers and supported by our Active Travel Support Worker. The Group offer monthly led rides to allow people to get some exercise, explore the local area and meet new people. The group meet on 2nd Sunday of each month at CDT office on Main Street. Times vary due to daylight. Rides are approx 1.5hrs in duration and the group meet for a cuppa and a natter afterwards.
From August 2020 the Saddle Up group are piloting a new ‘Bike Bus’ initiative with Lornshill Academy. Read more in our Autumn/Winter newsletter http://clackmannancommunity.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Newsletter-Autumn-2020.pdf
Our Active Travel Support Worker is supporting Clackmannan Development Trust 2 afternoons per week with the delivery of Cycling Scotland’s Bikeability programme for P5-P7 pupils to help them build their confidence and cycle proficiency.
Clackmannan Railway Action Group
There has long been is a desire within the community of Clackmannan to see the Railway line to Dunfermline return with a halt/station in the Town. Our Active Travel Support Worker is supporting a group of locals to conduct the research to support the community need and demand for this.
